ATC allows bail to Imran in eight cases till June 8
Judge says JIT not serious in pursuing cases otherwise its members would have appeared in court.
ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Tuesday granted bail to PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran in eight cases till June 8.
When Khan arrived at the judicial complex, his vehicle was allowed entry amid a security wall of Rangers and other law enforcement agencies.
The PTI chief appeared in the court of judge Jawad Abbas. His lawyer Salman Safdar told the court that Imran was facing eight terror cases related to violence at the judicial complex.
The judge allowed the former prime minister to have a seat. He then said Imran’s statement had not been recorded only one of the cases.
He asked why Imran’s statement was not recorded when he was in police lines on May 9.
The judge said the joint investigation team wad not serious in pursuing the case as its members were not present in the court. The judge then allowed the bail plea till June 8 in eight cases.
