ATC Sentences 59 PTI Leaders in Rana Sana House Attack Case

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Sunday delivered its verdict in the case related to the May 9 attack on Rana Sanaullah’s residence.

A total of 75 individuals were convicted, while 34 others were acquitted.

The 59 accused were sentenced to 10 years in prison each, and 16 accused received three-year prison terms. Key PTI leaders sentenced to 10 years include Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, and Kanwal Shauzab, while prominent figures such as Fawad Chaudhry and Zain Qureshi were among those acquitted.

The case pertains to one of four FIRs registered in Faisalabad following the May 9 unrest, which involved vandalism and attacks.

Three other cases had been adjudicated earlier, while the fourth specifically concerned the attack on Rana Sanaullah’s house at Samanabad police station, naming 109 individuals from PTI’s central leadership.
