Attack on FC headquarters foiled, 4 terrorists killed: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Four terrorists tried to enter and attack the headquarters pf the Frontier Corps in the Mohmand tribal district of Khyber Pakhtukhwa, the ISPR said in a statement issued here on Saturday.

Early morning of September 6, a group of four terrorists tried to enter and attack the FC headquarters in Mohmand. The security forces however foiled the bid of the armed terrorists to attack the FC headquarters and killed all of the Khawarij.

The ISPR said that detonators, suicide jackets, arms and ammunition were recovered form the dead bodies of the terrorists.

It added that the army carried out a combing and clearance operation in the whole are to ensure that there is no other terrorist. The army resolved that it would continue its fight to root out terrorism and eliminate terrorists and their facilitators from the country.

It may be mentioned here that terrorists hiding in Afghanistan have increased attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces of Pakistan in recent years. Despite repeated calls from Islamabad, the Taliban regime in Kabul have failed to check the terror attacks on Pakistan using the Afghan areas.
