Australia beats Pakistan by 62 runs

BENGALURU: Australia beat by 62 runs in the 18th match of the World Cup 2023 played in Bengaluru on Friday.

Batting first, the Australians piled up 368 runs and the green shirts while chasing the target initially played well but then lost wickets and could 305 runs in 46 overs.

Openers Abdullah Shafique and Imamul Haq scored 70 and 64 runs. After Babar Azam was sent to the pavilion, Mohammad Rizwan (46) and Saud Shakeel (30) tried to build a strong partnership but Pat Cummunis got breakthrough by dismissing Shakeel.

Later, Pakistan lost Mohammad Nawaz, Usama Mir, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi in quick sessions.
