ISLAMABAD: The backlog of passport printing has ended as the passport office has made a record by printing 3376510 passports since July this year.
This was stated by Director General Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi during a visit to the production unit, says a press release.
The DG inspected the production and issuance of passports to the citizens and issued necessary instructions to the officials and staff concerned.
He said that since July this year, the total number of passports printed increased to 3,376,510 after installation of new printing machines. With this development, the backlog of passports was also overcome.
These included 776,451 of normal category, 1,896,403 urgent and 703,656 fast track category passports, the DG added. He said that the success was made possible because of the untiring efforts of the staff who worked without having holidays.
