Baloch solidarity committee continues protest in Mastung

Dharna started yesterday after activists were not allowed to proceed to Gwadar for a rally.

MASTUNG (BALOCHISTAN): A large number of workers and supporters of Baloch Yakjihati Committee have continued a Dharna in Mastung since Saturday morning after 14 of them were injured when police opened fire on them.

The activists started the protest sit-in in the middle of the national highway after the incident. Police stopped them from proceeding to Gwadar where the committee has arranged a rally.

A a result of the protest, traffic to different cities of the province remained suspended. The protesters said that they would not disperse and would go ahead with their plan to attend the Gwadar rally.

Meanwhile, police and other law enforcement agencies have put up hurdles on different roads to stop people from holding protest or moving to Gwadar.

In many other areas, the Baloch Yakjihati Committee has started protest against the police for not allowing them to join the rally in Gwadar.

It has been learnt that the police have also blocked many roads in the coastal areas and the administration in Gwadar has suspended mobile phone service in the coastal city.
