QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that anti-state elements will not be forgiven under any circumstances and that no compromise will be made on peace and security in the province.
The chief minister stated this after social media reports showed armed militants affiliated with outlawed BLA carrying out attacks in the city of Quetta. The armed persons resorted to firing and bomb attacks in markets, banks and main roads in different areas of Quetta. They also targeted an MCB branch in Quetta with a rocket while many people looked on.
The reports added that BLA terrorists had carried out attacks in other cities of Balochistan as well.
The chief minister in a social media post said he visited the site of a bomb blast in Quetta, where he reviewed the overall security situation. During the visit, he met personnel of the security forces and police, and praised the police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for their swift and effective response.
He commended the bravery of the officers and termed their timely action against terrorists as commendable.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the state’s resolve against terrorism remains firm and that security forces will continue operations until the last terrorist is eliminated.
He said that terrorist attacks cannot weaken the government’s determination to restore and maintain peace in Balochistan.
In a post on social media platform X, the chief minister stated that more than 700 terrorists have been killed by security forces in Balochistan over the past 12 months, while nearly 70 terrorists were neutralized in just the last two days.
He claimed that terrorists attempted attacks in various areas of the province early in the morning to boost their declining morale, but these attempts were thwarted by the coordinated efforts of the Balochistan Police and Frontier Corps (FC).
Mir Sarfraz Bugti reiterated that the sacrifices of security personnel will not go in vain and that the fight against terrorism will continue until lasting peace is achieved in the province.
