Balochistan Sets Target to Enroll 266,000 Children
QUETTA: The Balochistan government has set a target to enroll more than 266,000 children in schools during the 2026 enrollment campaign, aiming to significantly reduce the province’s large number of out-of-school children.
An official from the provincial Education Department said that the government has already launched awareness campaigns across Balochistan to encourage parents to send their children to school and highlight the importance of education.
In a major step toward education reform, the government has reactivated about 4,000 previously non-functional schools and recruited 10,000 new teachers, providing learning opportunities to thousands of children across the province. The official emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring the availability of teachers and guaranteeing that every child has access to education.
To further improve literacy rates, the Education Department is also organizing public rallies in different cities, urging communities to enroll their children in schools. Parents, teachers, political workers, district education officers, and religious leaders have been urged to actively support the campaign and play their role in ensuring that no child is left out of the education system.–APP
