Barcelona will host the 15th edition of the World Peace Forum, which for the first time in history will be held in a Spanish city.
It will take place from November 23 to 25 with a program of more than 50 conferences, 200 speakers from around the world, concerts, exhibitions and parallel activities. This year the forum will be used to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Among the speakers who will intervene are Federico Mayor Zaragoza, Michael Collins and Ouided Bouchamaoui, who will dialogue with artists and activists such as Tvboy, Duvan and Boniface Mwani, in a set of round tables.
There will be exhibitions at the Real Cercle Artístic, the MNAC and the Palau Martorell, and also concerts at the Liceu Conservatory and the Pi Basilica and the Mur de la Pau, on the Besòs River. The organization will set up a space there for citizens to leave their slogans, texts and artistic interventions.
The event will serve to “vindicate the commitment of the city and the great associative and entrepreneurial wealth of Barcelona with very diverse and strong social actors, involved with justice, leaders in the defense of these rights”, said Maria Eugènia Gay, deputy mayor of Social Rights, Culture, Education and Life Cycles.
