Begum Shamim Akhtar’s funeral prayers were offered in the grounds of Zahir Sharif Medical City after Zuhr prayers. Well known religious scholar Allama Ragheb Naeemi led the funeral prayers of the deceased. A large number of political leaders also attended the funeral prayers.
Begum Shamim was buried in Jati Amra, where her late husband Mian Sharif, son Abbas Sharif and daughter-in-law Kulsoom Nawaz are laid to rest.
Begum Shamim Akhtar’s body was brought to Lahore from London by a special flight on Saturday morning, Shahbaz Sharif And Hamza Shahbaz received his body. Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz have been released on parole for attending the funeral of Begum Shamim Akhtar.
Begum Shamim Akhtar passed away in London on Sunday morning, November 22. His funeral prayers were also offered in London yesterday in the presence of his son Mian Nawaz Sharif and others. The body was sent to Pakistan after the funeral prayers.
