Benazir never taught me revenge, says Bilawal

LONDON: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here said that her mother Benazir Bhutto’s life was dedicated for the betterment of Pakistan’s future.

“My mother did not teach me revenge, that’s why I say democracy is the best solution.”

He stated this while giving a lecture at Oxford University. He said that despite the restrictions imposed on women, Benazir Bhutto became the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Today the Chief Minister of Punjab is also a woman.

The PPP chairman said that Pakistan could no longer afford another martial law. The future of Pakistan is linked to the supremacy of the constitution, independence of judiciary and the freedom of the press.

Bilawal Bhutto, in a question-answer session at Oxford University, said that National Accountability Bureau was formed under a draconian law.

“We are against it even today. The PPP in Sindh has improved the provision of basic health facilities.’

Bilawal Bhutto further said that the security situation in Balochistan was worrisome, adding Pakistan’s nuclear assets wrre for its own safety.
