Bilawal Highlights Importance of Medical Sector During National Crises

LARKANA: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stated that the youth are the future of the country and that the medical sector plays a critical and frontline role during every national crisis.

He said the significance of education cannot be overlooked and acknowledged that there is considerable scope for further improvement in educational institutions across Sindh.

Addressing the 7th convocation ceremony of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Bilawal said that the occasion was not merely about the distribution of degrees, but also a reminder of the responsibility to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for the public.

He urged the graduating students to step into their professional lives with a strong sense of duty and commitment to serving the nation.

He noted that doctors and paramedical staff had always stood shoulder to shoulder with the nation during challenging times, including emergencies and crises.

“You will be serving in different regions of your province. In moments of difficulty, healthcare professionals act as the first line of defense for the people,” he said.

The PPP chairman said that the government is actively working in collaboration with the private sector to strengthen the healthcare system, adding that improving health services remains one of the party’s top priorities.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had envisioned the establishment of the medical university as early as 1989, a dream that was eventually realized in 2009.

He recalled that Chandka Medical College was founded in 1973 and highlighted its historic contribution to medical education.
