QUETTA: A major explosion near Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan severely damaged a section of the railway track, forcing authorities to suspend all train services temporarily.
According to police and railway officials, unidentified suspects planted explosive material on the railway line, which detonated and caused significant damage to the tracks. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. However, the blast has disrupted rail connections between Balochistan and other parts of the country.
Security forces, bomb disposal squads, and police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further attacks.
Officials noted that several attacks on railway tracks and trains, including bombings and sabotage at signal points, have occurred in Balochistan in recent months, raising serious security concerns.
Restoration of train services will only be announced after thorough inspections to ensure the safety of passengers.
