KARACHI: A blast at Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi has killed at least three people and injured 15 others, raising fears of an increase in the number of casualties.
Rescue teams have reached the spot after the blast at Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi and the injured are being shifted to hospital. According to rescue sources, the blast took place in a four-storey building with two private banks on the ground floor and residential flats on the upper floor.
According to preliminary evidence, the blast was caused by a gas leak. The blast was so severe that part of the building was completely destroyed, while the windows of nearby buildings were shattered, while the sound of the blast could be heard in the distance. Rangers and police teams have reached the spot after the blast.
The place where the blast took place at Maskan Chowrangi is a busy highway. A gate of Karachi University is also located near the site of the blast, while there is also a food street near the site of the blast.
Rescue sources said that at least three people were killed and 15 others injured in the blast. The wreckage has been taken so that the wreckage can be evacuated.
