Blast near school bus in Khuzdar claims lives of five children

KHUZDAR: A devastating explosion near a school bus at Zero Point on the National Highway in Khuzdar has claimed the lives of at least five children and left more than 40 others injured.

According to the deputy commissioner Khuzdar, the attack was a suicide bombing. The explosives were reportedly planted in a vehicle parked on the roadside near the Karachi-Quetta National Highway at Zero Point. The injured have been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for treatment.

Initial reports suggest that the school bus was targeted deliberately, marking one of the most tragic attacks on schoolchildren in recent times.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the Khuzdar blast and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. Extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, he stated, “Those who target innocent children are nothing less than monsters and deserve no leniency. The attack on a school bus is a heinous conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the country. But with national unity, we will thwart every such plot.”

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan also expressed grief over the incident, declaring it an act of cowardice and cruelty. He alleged that India has resorted to such underhanded tactics following its failures on the battlefield. “The terrorist attack on innocent children is the height of brutality and cowardice. The entire nation mourns the loss of these young souls,” he said, vowing that facilitators of terrorism will be dealt with with an iron hand.

The incident has sparked outrage and mourning across the country, with calls for enhanced security measures to protect schoolchildren and ensure that such tragedies do not recur.
