ATHENES: A boat carrying migrants capsized near Greece, killing 14 people. According to reports, the vessel collided with a coast guard ship, leading to the deadly accident.
Rescue teams managed to save 24 migrants, while operations are ongoing to locate the remaining passengers. The boat was reportedly carrying more than 35 people at the time of the incident.
Migrant boat accidents have been a recurring tragedy in the region. In January, a similar incident off the coast of Karachi resulted in 10 deaths, while in Oman, a boat carrying French tourists sank, killing three people.
Authorities have repeatedly warned about the dangers of overcrowded and unsafe vessels in international waters, highlighting the ongoing risks faced by migrants seeking safer destinations.
