Bodies of Two Houthi Attack Victims, Six Injured Sent to Pakistan

KARACHI: The bodies of two Pakistani nationals killed in a Houthi attack on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea, along with six injured Pakistanis, have been sent back to Pakistan.

The bodies of Umer Afzal and Muhammad Akram were first transported from Yemen to Saudi Arabia and later flown from Jeddah to Karachi on a Saudi Airlines flight.

Six injured Pakistanis — Zaheer Ahmed, Muhammad Amir Hamza, Imtiaz Ali, Muhammad Abid Ali, Muhammad Rizwan and Muhammad Waheed — were flown from Jeddah to Islamabad and Karachi on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights.

Pakistan Consul General in Jeddah Syed Mustafa Rabbani, along with other officials, facilitated the repatriation of the victims at Jeddah airport.

Officials said Pakistani diplomatic authorities and relevant institutions provided assistance throughout the repatriation process and conveyed their best wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured.
