FAISALABAD: A boiler blast at a factory in the Naemat Factory Area near Canal Road, Malikpur, early Friday morning ignited a major fire and caused heavy damage to nearby homes.
Several casualties are feared, though officials have not yet released confirmed figures.
The explosion occurred shortly after dawn, with witnesses reporting a massive flash and flames rising high above the factory, believed to be producing glue. The shockwave damaged multiple surrounding houses, some of which partially collapsed.
Rescue teams are searching through the debris, and residents say voices can still be heard from beneath the rubble. Harrowing footage circulating online shows the scale of destruction, though details remain unverified.
Industrial accidents continue to plague Faisalabad, where many factories still operate inside residential zones despite government directives to relocate them outside the city.
