In a joint declaration issued after the BRICS meeting, member states outlined their position on the situation in Gaza and the broader Palestinian issue.
The declaration said BRICS countries oppose any geographical or demographic changes in Gaza and rejected attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian population.
The group reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution as a means of achieving a lasting and peaceful settlement to the Palestinian issue.
BRICS nations also opposed measures aimed at altering the historical status of occupied Jerusalem and stressed the importance of respecting all religious and holy sites in the city.
The declaration called for continued efforts to preserve the Gaza ceasefire and support peace and stability in the region.
