ISLAMABAD: A vehicle carrying the personal staff officer of the caretaker interior minister Sarfaraz Bugti was injured along with his driver in a road accident on Saturday.
Police said the mishap took place at Thalian Interchange near Islamabad International Airport. An oil tanker coming from the wrong direction of the road hit a car that was part of Bugti’s motorcade. The driver of the oil tanker was arrested, said the police.
A spokesman for the interior ministry a vehicle from the ministry met with an accident while going to the airport. However, it was neither part of the minister’s motorcade nor the minister was travelling in it.
He said the minister’s personal staff officer Syed Ameen and the driver of the car were injured. They were shifted to PIMS where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
