Bushra Bibi skips accountability court in corruption case

Says she understands the importance of investigation and will fully cooperate with court.

ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, wife of incarcerated former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan, has excused from appearing in an accountability court in connection with the 190 million pound Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.

On October 16, the accountability court had granted her interim bail and barred NAB from arresting her in the Toshakhana and 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust cases.

The interim bail was granted in exchange for bonds worth Rs500,000 in each case and the hearing was adjourned.

However, today she did not appear in the court and through her lawyer Naeem Panjotha sought more time.

She said she had received a notice issued on October 23 but was unable to appear in the court at 3pm on Wednesday due to some pressing issues.

She requested the court to adjourn the hearing of the corruption case and issue her a fresh notice for appearance in the court next week.
