Canada Announces End to Several Retaliatory Tariffs on U.S. Goods

OTTAWA: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced the removal of several retaliatory tariffs imposed on American goods. In an official statement, Carney said that Canada is set to accelerate new trade and security negotiations with the United States.

He stated that most trade items between Canada and the U.S. will now be free of tariffs. However, existing tariffs on automobiles, steel, and aluminum will remain in place.

Carney emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and security ties with the U.S., signaling a shift toward more cooperative trade relations between the two countries.
