Canadian national, five others go missing in Sindh

Police investigation continue but so far no progress has been made, say officers.

HYDERABAD: Six youth, including a Canadian national, have gone missing from two cities of Sindh, local police said today.

The police said that one of the missing youth is a Canadian national while the five others were students of two universities in Hyderabad and Jamshoro, Sindh.

The relatives of the students approached the police with  complaints that the students might have been kidnapped.

Senior police officers confirmed that 35 years old Canadian citizen disappeared after leaving his residence. He had told family members that he was going to a friend and went missing. The police now have taken into custody the friend of the missing man for investigation. However, so far no progress has been made in the case.

Relatives and family members of the five other missing youth said that they had left their homes in group on Independence Day. They had  left home on motorcycles but later their mobile phones were found switched off.

Robbers are active in different parts of Sindh, especially on the banks of river Indus, in desert and forest areas. The robbers kidnap people and take them to undisclosed places and demand ransom.
