Caretaker chief minister of KP passes away

Azam Khan was taken to hospital with a severe stomach infection and kept in ICU last night.

PESHAWAR: The caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakthunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan passed away after a brief illness on Saturday morning. He was 89 years old.

Muhammad Azam Khan was taken to a hospital with a severe stomach infection and kept in the Intensive Care Unit on Friday night. However, he passed away on Saturday morning.

He was also suffering from different ailments for long and had been in a very poor health.

His funeral prayer will be held at his hometown of Charsadda at 3m on Saturday.

It may be mentioned here that Azam Khan had taken oath as the caretaker chief minister on January 21, 2023.

He was a retired bureaucrat and had worked in different posts such as assistant commissioner and commissioner.
