Caretaker CM irked by poor cleanliness in hospital

Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex in Nowshehra management directed to improve situation to desired level in one week.

PESHAWAR: Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah on Saturday paid a snap visit to Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex Nowshehra and expressed his displeasure over the poor hygiene in the hospital.

He gave a deadline of one week to the hospital management to improve the situation to the desired level. He termed sanitation and cleanliness as of vital importance for any healthcare service delivery outlet and said without the required hygienic environment quality healthcare service delivery was not possible.

He said the hospital management should give special attention to ensure cleanliness in all respects. The caretaker chief minister met with patients under treatment in the hospital and got information about the healthcare facilities being provided there.

Staff present on duty briefed him about the facilities being provided to patients in the hospital.

Mr Shah directed the management of the hospital for necessary steps to improve the overall health service delivery system, and said provision of quality healthcare facilities to the general public was one of the priority areas of the caretaker government, adding any negligence and inefficiency in this regard will not be tolerated at any cost.

He directed the authorities concerned to ensure efficient and prudent use of available resources to this end.
