Case Registered Against Karachi Kings Captain in Australia
SYDNEY: Karachi Kings captain and Australian cricketer David Warner has been charged in Australia for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, according to international media reports.
The incident took place in Sydney’s Maroubra area, where police stopped Warner’s vehicle and conducted a breath test. Reports suggest that although Warner had pulled over before reaching a testing point, authorities still carried out the test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
Following the test, New South Wales Police registered a case against the cricketer and briefly took him into custody before transferring him to a police station. Media reports indicate that Warner is scheduled to appear before a court on May 7.
Warner is currently leading Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11. He had traveled to Australia on a short break and was expected to rejoin his team on April 9 ahead of upcoming matches.
