MUNICH: During his recent visit to Germany, Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir held a series of meetings with global leaders and senior defense officials, focusing on international security, regional stability, and bilateral defense cooperation.
A key highlight of the visit was his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The discussions covered pressing regional and global security issues, counter-terrorism collaboration, and strategies to strengthen mutual cooperation in addressing evolving threats.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued engagement to maintain peace and stability in volatile regions.
Field Marshal Munir also met with senior German officials, including Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Chancellor Günter Sauter, and Chief of Defence of the German Armed Forces General Carsten Breuer.
Discussions focused on contemporary security challenges, enhancing bilateral defense cooperation, and the importance of multilateral dialogue in fostering global peace and stability.
Expanding his international defense engagements, Field Marshal Munir also met with Chief of Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire to discuss avenues for strengthening military collaboration between Pakistan and Brazil.
In addition, he held productive talks with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Rudolf Hickel, focusing on regional security developments and strategies to further enhance bilateral defense cooperation.
