ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan Continued its engagements with political parties in order to remove their reservations and ensure free and fair elections to the national and provincial assemblies.
Earlier, the ECP held separate meetings with all political parties including the PML-N, PPP and the PTI and received recommendations as regard to the holding of the elections.
At another meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja held talks with representatives of various political parties in Islamabad.
The representatives raised questions about violations of the ECP code of conduct in previous elections and sought assurances from the commission to take steps so that there were no violations this time.
The chief election commissioner assured them that essential changes would be made to the draft code of conduct for upcoming elections.
The meeting was held aimed to engage with political parties regarding the code of conduct for the forthcoming general elections.
The Election Commission collected input from political parties concerning the draft code of conduct and received their suggestions for its improvement.
