BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that his country and Pakistan had remained steadfast and time-tested friends and always trusted each other.
The Chinese President passed this remarks in a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his 73rd birthday, according to the state media.
President Xi said that he wished a very very Happy Birthday to the Pakistani Prime Minister and wished him good health and best of luck and more returns of the day.
He said that China and Pakistan had always worked in close coordination on a number of multinational projects for the betterment of the two countries.
He said that he looked forward to meeting the Pakistani Prime Minister and discuss ways to further enhance bilateral relations in different sectors.
President Xi also expressed his desire to work with Prime Minister Sharif to promote strategic cooperation and advance the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
