China announces to introduce electric cars in Pakistan

Finance Minister Aurangzeb Khan meets China's vice finance minister in Washington and welcomes move.

WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Aurangzeb Khan has welcomed an announcement by  China to introduce electric cars in Pakistan.

Khan met the vice finance minister of China in Washington and welcomed the announcement of the Chinese BYD Company to launch its electric cars in Pakistan.

The finance minister told the Chinese vice minister that there was a need to increase the volume of currency swap between the two countries to 40 billion Yuans. 

He said this would help in enhancing the trade volume between Pakistan and China which had lots of potential for further growth.
