BEIJING: China has strongly condemned the ongoing U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, calling for an immediate stop to the strikes.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that the war should never have happened, stating that the use of force is not a solution and that attempts to change Iran’s government have failed to gain public support.
He urged respect for the security and sovereignty of Iran and Gulf countries, calling on major powers to play a constructive role in preventing the escalation of the conflict.
Earlier, Russia had also condemned the attacks and demanded their immediate cessation.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister stated that if the U.S. escalates the war, Iran is prepared with long-term measures. The statement comes after U.S. and Israeli forces heavily bombed Iran’s oil installations, triggering massive fires.
