China condemns terrorist attacks in Balochistan

Spokesman in Beijing says China will enhance cooperation with Pakistan to fight terror activities.

BEIJING: China on Tuesday strongly condemned the wave of terrorism that has gripped different parts of Pakistan, especially the province of Pakistan.

At a press briefing, a spokesman for the foreign affairs ministry said that China strongly condemns the acts of terrorism and expresses grief and shock over the loss of lives in the recent attacks in Pakistan.

The spokesman said that China always opposed terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and worked for peace, development and stability. He said that Beijing would enhance its security cooperation with Islamabad to tackle the issue of terrorism. He said that peace and stability in the region was vital and the two countries would be working to strengthen security cooperation.

It may be noted that armed people blocked a highway in Musakhel town of Balochistan on the night between Aug 25 and 26 and shot dead at least 23 passengers after dragging them down from buses.

The assistant commissioner of Musakhel said armed men stopped buses and trucks on the inter-provincial highway, checked the CNICs of the passengers and shot dead all those from Punjab. The terrorists also set fire to 10 vehicles.

Terrorists also occupied roads and highways in many other areas of Balochistan. In a similar incident, the terrorists blocked a highway in Qalat and killed 10 people, including four Levies and one police personnel. They also torched scores of vehicles.
