BEIJING: China on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the passenger train in Balochistan and renewed its support to Pakistan in its efforts to eliminate terrorism.

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, “We have seen the reports of this terrorism and strongly condemn this terrorist attack. China firmly opposes terrorism in any form and we will continue to firmly support Pakistan in combating terrorism.”

According to the spokesperson, China is ready to strengthen counter-terrorism and security cooperation with Pakistan. She said China is ready to keep the region peaceful, secure and stable.

On the other hand, the UN Secretary General also condemned the terrorist attack on the passenger train in Pakistan.

A spokesman for the UN Secretary General said that while condemning any hostage-taking, the situation of train passengers being held hostage was being monitored and the hostages should be released immediately.

It may be recalled that terrorists attacked the Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express in Bolan yesterday and took the passengers hostage. Security forces today said that they have recovered a large number of hostage passengers, including women and children, in an operation. The rescued children and women were shifted to safer places.

The forces said that they killed all the terrorists on the spot.
