Chinese PM due on four-day visit to Pakistan tomorrow

High level talks between Pakistan and China on cards regarding ongoing projects and security issues related to Chinese workers.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of China Li Qiang will lead a high level delegation and is expected to arrive in Islamabad on a four-day visit to Pakistan on October 14.

This was confirmed by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Sunday.

The Chinese prime minister is visiting Pakistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s 23rd summit which will be held in Islamabad from October 15 to 16. However, the Chinese leader will also hold talks with his counterpart Shehbaz Sharif on different CPEC projects as well as security matters regarding Chinese workers and projects in Pakistan.

It may be mentioned here that prime ministers of six other countries including Russia are expected to attend the SCO summit. Security and other arrangements have been finalized for the international event.
