Classes at KMU Abbottabad campus to start soon: CM
Medical graduates can get admission in public health, health research, epidemiology and basic medical sciences postgraduates degree program.
PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University has established its campus for Hazara region at Abbottabad and formal classes will commence at the KMU Institute of Health Sciences Hazara from next month.
Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Arshad Hussain Shah formally inaugurated the campus during his visit to Abbottabad.
While briefing the chief minister about the programs to be offered in the campus, it was told that the campus was established to cater for the need of the entire Hazara region.
Medical graduates can get the opportunity of admission in public health, health research, epidemiology and basic medical sciences postgraduates degree program.
The chief minister termed the establishment of KMU Hazara campus an important step to promote medical education in the region and said that with the establishment of the campus, the medical graduates of the region would get facility of specialized training in various medical specialties at their door steps.
Lauding the role of KMU in producing trained human resource in various medical fields, Mr Shah expressed the hope that the university will continue its activities in a more effective manner.
Besides Vice Chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq and Commissioner Hazara Zaheerul Islam, high ups of district administration and KMU management were also present on the occasion.
Later, the caretaker chief minister met delegations from Mansehra Bar Association, Abbottabad Bar Association and Haripur Bar Association and discussed with them steps to address their issues.
