According to sources, contacts between the PTI and government have entered an important phase, with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan remaining in communication with the Speaker of the National Assembly and other senior government officials.
Sources said the PTI is seeking concrete and meaningful relief in exchange for postponing its planned protest.
The party has reportedly called for comprehensive medical facilities for its founding chairman, Imran Khan, relief for Bushra Bibi and other family members, and an end to the ongoing campaign against the provincial government.
PTI leaders have maintained that mere promises and assurances would not be sufficient to move the matter forward. They have stressed that practical measures and tangible progress would be necessary for postponing the protest.
Sources said progress in the talks could influence both the party’s decision regarding the protest and the holding of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka cricket series.
