Consul general discusses collaboration with county college leaders

NEW YORK: Opportunities for collaboration between the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York and student bodies at Suffolk County Community College were at the forefront of a recent meeting between Consul General Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai and student leaders.

Discussions centered around launching joint cultural programs, academic partnerships, and initiatives to support Pakistani students in higher education. Mr. Atozai emphasized the Consulate’s commitment to enhancing the academic and professional experiences of Pakistani students across the United States.

Highlighting the occasion, Mr. Atozai congratulated Mr. Faisal Mahmood on his recent election as President of the Student Union for the 2025–2026 academic year. Representing over 25,000 students, Mr. Mahmood was praised for his leadership and dedication—an accomplishment Mr. Atozai called “a source of pride for the Pakistani-American community.”

The meeting is part of the Consulate’s broader efforts to strengthen engagement with Pakistani youth and foster lasting relationships with academic institutions throughout the country.
