ISLAMABAD: Authorities have launched a crackdown against vehicles without M-Tags in the federal capital as part of efforts to improve traffic monitoring and enforcement.
According to officials, checkpoints have been established on three major thoroughfares, including 9th Avenue, Margalla Avenue, and the G-14 checkpoint, where vehicles without M-Tags are being stopped and issued tags on the spot. Administrative teams have been deployed at all major entry routes into Islamabad.
Vehicles entering the capital without M-Tags are being intercepted at these checkpoints, where M-Tags are being installed immediately. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and SP Dolphin visited the checkpoints to review the ongoing operations.
Officials confirmed that M-Tag readers installed at 12 entry points across the city have been activated, and enforcement has begun against all vehicles attempting to enter Islamabad without the mandatory M-Tag.
According to the Director General Excise, a 24/7 M-Tag installation facility has been introduced for public convenience, while 16 designated locations across Islamabad are now providing M-Tag installation services.
