ISLAMABAD: The federal capital police have been directed to launch an immediate crackdown against illegally residing Afghan nationals found involved in criminal activities.
The orders were issued by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, during a high-level meeting attended by SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and all station house officers (SHOs).
The DIG said that concrete evidence had surfaced regarding the involvement of illegally residing foreign nationals in various crimes.
He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against land grabbers, illegal weapon holders, and drug dealers, instructing officers to take the strictest legal action against such elements.
Tariq further directed police units to intensify operations against organized criminal gangs involved in serious offenses, including car and motorcycle theft. He stressed improving patrolling and security checks across the city and ensuring that public grievances are addressed on a priority basis.
Police officials also reported the recovery of two mobile phones from a detained suspect, while raids are underway to arrest remaining accomplices.
