LAHORE: Under the vision of “Safe Punjab” set by the Chief Minister of Punjab, the jurisdiction of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has been expanded to cover additional areas in South Punjab.
Following approval from the provincial cabinet, Tehsil Koh-e-Suleman and Dera Ghazi Khan have been brought under the jurisdiction of the CTD. Additionally, Tehsil Rajanpur has also been included within the CTD Dera Ghazi Khan’s operational area.
With this expansion, the jurisdiction of CTD Dera Ghazi Khan now extends across all districts of the DG Khan Police Region, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, and Rajanpur.
According to officials, a notification issued after recommendations from the Home Department and approval by the provincial cabinet has amended the earlier notification dated September 27, 2019.
The move aims to further strengthen law and order and enhance counterterrorism operations in South Punjab.
