According to the Foreign Office, Dar said durable solutions to conflicts should be pursued through peaceful means and that the international community must uphold the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
He said Pakistan had long played a prominent role in UN peacekeeping missions and supported a comprehensive approach based on dialogue and diplomacy for preventing and resolving conflicts.
Dar said Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, including its efforts to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States, reflected the country’s commitment to peace and diplomatic engagement.
He also described the unanimous adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2788 as an important development and stressed the need to further strengthen peaceful mechanisms for conflict resolution.
The deputy prime minister warned that unresolved disputes contribute to regional and global instability. He said denial of the right to self-determination and failure to implement UN Security Council resolutions remained obstacles to lasting peace.
Dar cited situations involving occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, along with other cases of foreign occupation, in support of his argument that unresolved disputes continue to pose challenges to international peace and stability.
He reiterated that Pakistan was ready to work as a reliable partner in collective efforts aimed at building a peaceful and prosperous world and supporting diplomatic solutions to conflicts.
