LAHORE: Dense fog has severely affected visibility across several parts of Punjab, forcing authorities to close multiple sections of major motorways to ensure public safety.

According to officials, the M-2 motorway has been closed from Lahore to Kot Momin due to extremely low visibility. The M-3 has been shut between Faizpur and Darkhana, while the M-4 is closed from Pindi Bhattian to Multan. In addition, the M-5 motorway from Multan to Zahir Pir has also been closed.

The Sialkot motorway (M-11) has likewise been shut as thick fog continues to pose serious risks for motorists.

Police have advised travelers to avoid unnecessary journeys, use fog lights, and maintain safe distances where travel is unavoidable.

The situation is being closely monitored, and motorways will be reopened once visibility improves, said the National Highways and Motorway Police.
