ISLAMABAD: Despite Prime Minister’s notice did not made any progress again and the people could not get any relief due to inflation. In one week, 25 essential items including sugar, flour, poultry, eggs and tomatoes became more expensive.
In Karachi, the price of tomato reached Rs 200 per kg, while in different cities, its price rose to Rs 20 to Rs 100 per kg in a month.
According to the weekly report of the Bureau of Statistics, the price of broiler chicken has gone up by Rs 26 per kg, eggs by Rs 9 per dozen and sugar by Rs 2 per kg. Tomato prices rose by Rs 4, dal mash by Rs 2 per kg, 20 kg bag of flour by Rs 4 while domestic cylinder of LPG by Rs 41. Meat, rice, oil, fresh milk and yoghurt prices also rose. Prices of 9 items, including onions, potatoes and pulses, declined in the last week, while prices of 17 items remained stable.
