ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis has submitted details of various welfare schemes for overseas Pakistanis to the National Assembly.
According to the submitted report, financial assistance amounting to Rs 712 million has been provided to 1,710 affected families in cases involving the death or disability of overseas Pakistanis. In addition, the bodies of 302 deceased Pakistanis were transported free of cost from abroad to their native towns through an ambulance service.
The ministry further informed the assembly that 49 deserving families were granted financial assistance totaling Rs 12.25 million. Moreover, 256 Pakistanis who lost their jobs overseas were paid Rs 597 million under support initiatives.
The report also highlighted that 6,338 complaints were received online from overseas Pakistanis, of which 3,905 have been resolved so far.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to facilitating overseas Pakistanis and addressing their grievances through improved welfare and complaint management mechanisms.
