Dharna continues against road closures in Parachinar
PARACHINAR: People of Parachinar have continued their protest sit-in against the closures of roads in the area for iver two and a half months.
The roads to the area have been blocked by the government after tribal clashes snd killings including massacre of over 50 passengers on the main road connecting the area with Peshawar last month.
The protesters said that due to the closures of the roads the area people were without food items and medicines. They said about 100 children have died of different diseases due to unavailability of medicines.
Though the government had formed a grand Jirga to negotiate a peaceful settlement to the enmity between two rival tribes it has not made any progress.
A KP government spokesman in Peshawar said that a special police force vs was being established that would guard the main Parachinar and Peshawar road. He said steps were being taken to bring lasting peace to tge area.
