ISLAMABAD: People from Kashmir living in the United States have played an important role in raising the issue of Kashmir at the international level, said Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry.
He was talking to a delegation of Kashmiri expatriates led by Syed Aftab Shah at Jammu Kashmir House in Islamabad on Monday. He said there had been an increase in bloodshed and violence in the occupied Kashmir since the Modi regime abolished the region’s special status on August 5, 2019. The occupation forces have broken all records of barbarism and brutality, he added.
He said there was a dire need for the Kashmiri community in the USA to gear up their efforts to highlight the atrocities being committed by Indian forces in Kashmir.
Sultan said he Kashmiri-American citizens must use their influence and pursue the US government to play its proactive role to help resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute peacefully.
