Diaspora’s role in image building of Pakistan highlighted

NEW YORK: The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York and Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations jointly celebrated the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional zeal and fervor.

The event was attended by officers and staff of the Consulate General and Permanent Mission to UN. 

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the flag hoisting by Ambassador Munir Akram, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations.

Messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out emphasizing the importance of unity, dedication, and continued efforts towards the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

In his remarks, Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamir Ahmed Atozai reflected on the significance of the day and highlighted the critical role of the Pakistani diaspora in strengthening the country’s image and interests abroad.

He also paid tribute to the resilience and contributions of the Pakistani community in New York. He urged all officers and staff to remain committed to serving Pakistan with integrity and dedication.

Ambassador Munir Akram underscored the challenges faced by Pakistan in the international arena and reiterated the importance of strong diplomatic engagement to safeguard the nation’s interests.

The ceremony concluded with the cutting of a cake to mark the occasion. The event was a solemn yet spirited celebration of Pakistan’s independence, underscoring the enduring connection between Pakistanis at home and abroad.
