RAWALPINDI: Unscrupulous elements living abroad are involved in digital terrorism against the people and institutions of Pakistan for the sake of money, said the ISPR director general on Monday.
Addressing a press conference here, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the law was not working properly against digital terrorism. He also said that the so-called leaders of Baloch Yakjehti Committee were proxies of terror organizations and after taking money from their foreign masters they gather mobs to create law and order situation in the province.
He said that a mafia was against development and progress of Pakistan in order to exploit the masses for its own interests. The general said that the economic well-being of the people of Balochsitan mainly depended on trader with Iran. if we completely seal the border, mafia would have a chance to target the army. He said efforts would be made to minimize petrol smuggling from Iran.
The ISPR chief also said that the stance of the army about the May 9th incidents was the same as it was then. there is no change in it.
He also said that part from fighting terrorism, the armed forces were working for promotion of education, health, agriculture and other sectors by establishing public welfare projects in merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
