Dissolution of Utility Stores Corporation Approved 

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet in which the summary for the dissolution of the Utility Stores Corporation was approved.

The cabinet was informed that operations of Utility Stores across the country had already ceased from July 31. The Prime Minister directed that the rights of employees must be fully protected during the dissolution process, ensuring transparency and compliance with all legal and procedural requirements.

The Prime Minister also appreciated China’s role in Pakistan’s sovereignty and national development, reiterating Islamabad’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, the cabinet gave in-principle approval to amend the Special Economic Zones Act, 2012. The proposed amendments are aimed at creating a more business- and investor-friendly environment to boost industrial growth and encourage the establishment of new industries in the country.
