Don’t ask about return of Nawaz Sharif again and again: Shehbaz

Says there are no legal hindrances in return of the PML-N supreme leader as lawyers have given him the green signal to come back.

LAHORE: Former prime minister and PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif has said the homecoming of party supremo Nawaz Sharif on October 21 is final and there should be no more questions about it.

At a press conference at Model Town Lahore, he was asked if Nawaz was returning as planned on Oct 21. In reply, Shehbaz said don’t ask this question again and again. He said there were no legal hindrances in the return of the PML-N supreme leader as lawyers have given him the green signal to come back.

Shehbaz said that Nawaz Sharif will land in Lahore on October 21 and address a pubic rally at Minar-e-Pakistan the same day for which preparations are underway.

The PML-N leader also said that on Oct 12, 1999, Nawaz Sharif and he were picked up after the PML-N government was topped in a military coup and made disappear for several months, adding they had never attacked any GHQ or any other army installations. He said had the PML-N leaders made a deal with the establishment, they would not have languished in jail. 

The former prime minister said during his 16-month stint he tried his level best to resolve public issues. He said his PDM-led government’s plan to provide subsidized petrol to motorcycles was rejected by the IMF, adding we could not do anything as our hands were tied.

On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif told reporters in London on Friday that it was his last day in office in the UK after which he would be departing for Pakistan. It has been learnt that before his arrival in Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia and perform Umrah and then go to Dubai before returning to the country.
